Spartan Freestyle: The Here And The Know Now

We walk a path of unknowns, we live a life of uncertainty.
One unknown moment to the next we stumble along thinking we are in control,
armed only with the dim, grimy light of our past.
Walk do we as if on solid ground, confident, even arrogant,
in our stride surrounded by illusions of control of what we do not know.
Our unknown can take from us, destroy us and make us kneel before,
but can give us, grow us and help us regain a lost anything.
The unknown is not just a toss of the dice or a spin of the cylinder,
it is far, far more powerful as we will never see it coming.
How do you brace for a thing you cannot see,
cannot feel or even reach out to,
for the unknown requires senses we have not yet discovered or do not and will never possess.
To stand and face our unknown will strip us to the core and show us who we are,
who we are not and who we would feebly wish to be.
We do not yet know the morrow and we not yet met our next breath.
The only real power we have is the power of now.
Sadly we barely know the now or how to live in it.
The here and the known now.
