TULSA, Okla. – (February 8, 2010) – Lynne Baxter Studios
Once upon a time there was this racing team from Manhattan, KS that had a dream. That dream was to make it big in the Grand Am Racing Series. And as dreams go, it was a good one. The dream had excitement, it had drama and as dreams so often do, it always had a happy ending. This was their tale of success, tickertape parades, where frogs turn to princes, evil queens are banned from the castle, fudgy pudding for everyone and the guy always gets the girl.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra At Frank Erwin Center

I became a Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) fan in 2004 shortly after the release of their The Lost Christmas Eve CD. I won tickets through my job to go see them in concert in 2006 and was so taken that I immediately joined their fan club. Their concert was so memorable that each year since then I have wanted to attend another concert, but something always got in the way. Well, not this year. When I got the announcement in August that they had released their tour dates, I immediately marked my calendar. I purchased my tickets in September and have been anxiously waiting for concert day ever since. My husband was too sick to attend the concert with me, so I took my neighbor. She has never seen Trans-Siberian Orchestra in concert and only knew them from their music she had heard on the radio. I knew she was going to be in for a real treat.

BCAS Concert @ Lady of Victory Basilica 2009

Amidst the celestial surroundings of the Our Lady of Victory Basilica, the Buffalo Choral Arts Society, under the baton of Marcia A.Giambrone, presented its annual Christmas concert “Let the Angels Sing…” For the past fifteen years, the group inspired the basilica’s capacity audience with its angelic sounds.

The Argentine Tango

In Buenos Aires today it is “Tango Day” – a celebration of the provocative, sultry, slow and sexy latin dance we know as the Argentine Tango. It is a dance born in the slums of the largest cities of Argentina and Uruguay and has remained an important element of the local culture.
The term “tangos” comes from popular African dance celebrations. Other terms synonymous with the tango, are “milonga” and “candombe”.

Benny “down” Hill all the way

In the late eighties I was a support guy working from a narrow closet. It was just wide enough for a desk and chair and long enough for the desk and 4 or 5 floor standing computer systems which kept the room very warm. The building did have high ceilings and at one end of support room was a slender but tall, window that looked out over Teddington High Street. Teddington is an average, small suburban London town, ten miles west of the city along the River Thames. The High street had the usual assortment of pubs, small supermarkets, fast food shops and banks. Our building was next to the Barclays Bank.
