Trans-Siberian Orchestra At Frank Erwin Center

I became a Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) fan in 2004 shortly after the release of their The Lost Christmas Eve CD. I won tickets through my job to go see them in concert in 2006 and was so taken that I immediately joined their fan club. Their concert was so memorable that each year since then I have wanted to attend another concert, but something always got in the way. Well, not this year. When I got the announcement in August that they had released their tour dates, I immediately marked my calendar. I purchased my tickets in September and have been anxiously waiting for concert day ever since. My husband was too sick to attend the concert with me, so I took my neighbor. She has never seen Trans-Siberian Orchestra in concert and only knew them from their music she had heard on the radio. I knew she was going to be in for a real treat.

The color detail of the massive battleship USS Arizona was on deck the morning of December 7, 1941 in preparation for the 8 am raising of the flag. Much of the Pacific Fleet was docked at Pearl Harbor including the USS Battleships Oklahoma, Nevada, Tennessee and Maryland. And while the rest of the world was being ravaged by war, it was yet another peaceful morning at the hawaiian port. The 1st Thanksgiving Day In America

Once, in the dim beginnings, primitive tribesmen crudely returned praise and tribute to their deities for the bounties of nature. It was their Thanksgiving. No one knows where the custom was born, but ever since man has tilled the soil, the autumn of the year has been the most appropriate season of the year for giving thanks. Before history began, the harvest was the climax of the yearly cycle, the time of joy and plenty, just as it is for the vast majority of humans in the present day… Read More at CultureProject:Earth

Anatomy of the Mystery Novel

The detective story, the who-dun-it?, the mystery has been a popular genre since the mid 1800s. People were fascinated as they read about C. Auguste Dupin who solved The Murders in the Rue Morgue written by Edgar Allen Poe in 1841. In 1868 Wilkie Collins published The Moonstone, whose detective was based on a member of Scotland Yard. The love of a good mystery has never died and those first stories are just as fascinating today as they were over a century ago.

Veterans Day in America

Here in America we live in a free land where, as free citizens, we can worship as we choose, elect whom we see fit to fill our public offices, criticize our laws and the policies of our government to our heart’s content, conduct our affairs, and go and come as we please- all this without fear or intimidation.
