Trans-Siberian Orchestra At Frank Erwin Center

I became a Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) fan in 2004 shortly after the release of their The Lost Christmas Eve CD. I won tickets through my job to go see them in concert in 2006 and was so taken that I immediately joined their fan club. Their concert was so memorable that each year since then I have wanted to attend another concert, but something always got in the way. Well, not this year. When I got the announcement in August that they had released their tour dates, I immediately marked my calendar. I purchased my tickets in September and have been anxiously waiting for concert day ever since. My husband was too sick to attend the concert with me, so I took my neighbor. She has never seen Trans-Siberian Orchestra in concert and only knew them from their music she had heard on the radio. I knew she was going to be in for a real treat.

Elvis’s Birthday Celebrated Worldwide

Happy Birthday Elvis Presley! The “King of Rock and Roll” born January 8, 1935 and died on August 16, 1977 but his legend lives on. No matter where in the world you live, his name, music and image are easily recognizable. Who doesn’t know how to hum a few bars of “Heartbreak Hotel” or “Jailhouse Rock”? In fact thirty-one of his singles from early in his career ruled the US and UK charts that included, “Don’t Be Cruel”, “Hound Dog” and “All Shook Up”. Along with his music, Elvis starred in over 33 films. In the United States, the television channel TMC will be playing a marathon of his movies, with introductions from Priscilla Presley and Jerry Schilling.

5 Great Dutch Destinations

A lot of times people who are traveling to the Netherlands will ask me where to go…but they usually end up in the regular tourist places like Amsterdam and Zaanstad. Although those places are a great sight, there are so many other beautiful places to visit, and if you would ask me for a list of places to see they probably wouldn’t even be in the top five. I have an alternative Top 5 for after you have visited the Amsterdam Area; places with just as much culture, history and sights…

The Argentine Tango

In Buenos Aires today it is “Tango Day” – a celebration of the provocative, sultry, slow and sexy latin dance we know as the Argentine Tango. It is a dance born in the slums of the largest cities of Argentina and Uruguay and has remained an important element of the local culture.
The term “tangos” comes from popular African dance celebrations. Other terms synonymous with the tango, are “milonga” and “candombe”.
