Knock On Wood

What does knocking on wood, spilled salt, black cats and the proverbial rabbit’s foot all have in common? These are all unwilling participants in age-old superstitions or as some may reference “old wives tales”. These are all part of common references to beliefs that are not based on reason, yet they have been past down from one generation to the other for centuries. Often accompanied by very strong believers. The concepts cross ethnic and religious borders and amazingly are still prevelant throughout our “modern” reality-based world of today.
