In a broad attempt to ban binge drinking, the State of Missouri has admitted to have mistakenly banned polypropylene instead of polystyrene (styrofoam) from its rivers. But hold on a second.. What is Polypropylene anyway? Researchers in Canada recently found that quaternary ammonium biocides and oleamide (all of it nasty stuff) were leaking out of polypropylene labware, affecting their experimental results. Surprised?
