Remember Tron? You know that edgy 1982 sci-fi flick with the cool neon lights starting Bruce Boxleitner and Jeff Bridges? Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times was a big fan of the film giving it 4 out of 4 stars and described it as “…technological sound-and-light show that is sensational and brainy, stylish, and fun”.
Well Tron fans rejoice. The Tron sequel is due later this and judging from the movie trailers, “Tron Legacy” looks to be a deserving 2.0 upgrade. -e.h.

TULSA, Okla. – (February 8, 2010) – Lynne Baxter Studios
Once upon a time there was this racing team from Manhattan, KS that had a dream. That dream was to make it big in the Grand Am Racing Series. And as dreams go, it was a good one. The dream had excitement, it had drama and as dreams so often do, it always had a happy ending. This was their tale of success, tickertape parades, where frogs turn to princes, evil queens are banned from the castle, fudgy pudding for everyone and the guy always gets the girl.

We walk a path of unknowns, we live a life of uncertainty.
One unknown moment to the next we stumble along thinking we are in control,
armed only with the dim, grimy light of our past.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra At Frank Erwin Center

I became a Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) fan in 2004 shortly after the release of their The Lost Christmas Eve CD. I won tickets through my job to go see them in concert in 2006 and was so taken that I immediately joined their fan club. Their concert was so memorable that each year since then I have wanted to attend another concert, but something always got in the way. Well, not this year. When I got the announcement in August that they had released their tour dates, I immediately marked my calendar. I purchased my tickets in September and have been anxiously waiting for concert day ever since. My husband was too sick to attend the concert with me, so I took my neighbor. She has never seen Trans-Siberian Orchestra in concert and only knew them from their music she had heard on the radio. I knew she was going to be in for a real treat.

Elvis’s Birthday Celebrated Worldwide

Happy Birthday Elvis Presley! The “King of Rock and Roll” born January 8, 1935 and died on August 16, 1977 but his legend lives on. No matter where in the world you live, his name, music and image are easily recognizable. Who doesn’t know how to hum a few bars of “Heartbreak Hotel” or “Jailhouse Rock”? In fact thirty-one of his singles from early in his career ruled the US and UK charts that included, “Don’t Be Cruel”, “Hound Dog” and “All Shook Up”. Along with his music, Elvis starred in over 33 films. In the United States, the television channel TMC will be playing a marathon of his movies, with introductions from Priscilla Presley and Jerry Schilling.

5 Great Dutch Destinations

A lot of times people who are traveling to the Netherlands will ask me where to go…but they usually end up in the regular tourist places like Amsterdam and Zaanstad. Although those places are a great sight, there are so many other beautiful places to visit, and if you would ask me for a list of places to see they probably wouldn’t even be in the top five. I have an alternative Top 5 for after you have visited the Amsterdam Area; places with just as much culture, history and sights…

WIGILIA: A Polish Village Christmas Eve

It is Christmas Eve. The night is cold and snow drifts across the fields. Children sit by the windows eagerly waiting for the appearance of the first star. “There it is!” cries Janek (Johnny). “Yes, we see it!” they all chorus. “Wigilia can begin!”

Hanukkah: The Festival of Lights

Glowing candles, the spinning of a top, the smell of foods frying, these are the signs that Hanukkah is here. Hanukkah is the Jewish Festival of Lights. It is a celebration of a miracle that lasts eight nights.
